Shoemaker Elementary Community Service Club has Successful Year

Congratulations on a job well done for the Shoemaker Elementary Community Service Club. This year they collected:

  • Over 200 items for the Washington Elementary School
  • 580 lbs. of food for the Zionsville Food Pantry
  • 270 coats, 134 hats, 101 pairs of gloves, 5 pairs of boots, 18 snow pants, and 89 scarves for the Whitehall Area Food Pantry, Washington Elementary School and the Mastery Charter Schools in Philadelphia and Camden
  • 243 toys for Toys for Tots.
  • Placements & pictures for Fellowship Manor in Whitehall and Meals on Wheels
  • 251 items for Forgotten Felines and Fidos
  • 1,204 books for Cops ‘N Kids
  • $9,025.47 for Pennies for Patients
  • Also, the students from the Community Service Club collected $398.09 for UNICEF; $410 for the Heifer Project (they purchased a goat, sheep, 2 chickens, & a share of a well); $600 for Nothing but Nets which bought mosquito netting which will save the lives of 60 people for 4 years.
  • The Community Service Club’s school store donated their profits – $500 to the Red Cross for the fires in California and $400 to the Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs.

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in any of these projects. Your kindness for others helps our children learn to be compassionate people. Great job, kids!
